Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SENTA) to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support children with special educational needs (SEN) within a mainstream classroom setting. This role involves providing individualized support to students, helping them to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons that meet the needs of SEN students.
2. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.
3. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
4. Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
5. Support students with their personal care needs, if required.
6. Promote positive behavior and manage challenging behavior effectively.
7. Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
2. A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
5. Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are an advantage.
