**Lead Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach**
**Summary:** Develop and implement strength and conditioning programs for academy players, ensuring athletic development and maximizing potential.
To lead the academy strength and conditioning provision for 9s-21s, maximising the athletic development of players across the academy. Report to Head of Sports Science & Medicine and Lead Academy Sports Scientist.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Lead the strength and conditioning academy program for all academy age groups from under 9-21 s
* Provide strength and conditioning training and monitoring to academy players as part of the Sports Science and Medicine/Performance Support Programme
* Plan and deliver fitness testing, gym testing, movement screens, and maturational monitoring across all FP, YDP, and PDP academy age groups throughout the season
* Implement data monitoring systems from Under 15-21 s to analyse training and match loads
* Provide sports science support to under 18s players, including prehab sessions, warm ups, and athletic development sessions
* Deliver sessions to under 9-16 s to improve athletic development
* Provide athletic development feedback to all academy staff in the 12 week reviews
* Plan and support CPD to coaches, parents and players regarding key areas in strength and conditioning
* Ensure all data is recorded using the PMA
* Provide nutritional education to academy players when required
* Help create an Extras Culture for the players to maximise their available development time
**Qualifications:**
* Hold at least a bachelor's degree in sports science (or another relevant discipline) from a recognised university
* Have or be working towards British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences accreditation
* Hold a current Basic First Aid for Sport Qualification, current EFAi F or an equivalent or higher qualification approved by the Board
* Hold or be working towards accreditation by the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (or equivalent workshops run by any equivalent body)
* Be aware of all safeguarding and equity and diversity issues, along with all academy and club policies, rules and regulations
