About The Role
You will support multi-agency learning and development and will lead on behalf of Adult Care on Safeguarding Adult Review's (SARs) and Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHR's). The role will also have input to Quality and Practice Audits. This will also necessitate working with lead professionals to inform practice development.
You will also lead several high-profile operational teams and will have strong experience of establishing leadership cultures that embody respect, authenticity and proactiveness. The operational teams include a central team of safeguarding professionals who are responsible for responding to over 3,500 Adult Safeguarding concerns per annum. And the Council's Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) service, which is charged with undertaking Mental Health Act assessments for all ages and provides an out of hours emergency social care response.
About You
It is essential that you hold either a Social or Health Care qualification and current registration, along with a management qualification or the ability to demonstrate significant experience at a suitable level.
Candidates should also be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes;
* The ability to provide expert advice in relation to the Safeguarding agenda to elected members, corporate management team and multi-agency partners.
* A strong understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
* A strong understanding of the mental health and mental capacity agendas.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, be comfortable with challenging poor practice, whilst also having the ability to de-escalate difficult situations.
* Encouraging and quick to celebrate outstanding practice within the service.
