Description If interested in applying your knowledge within one of the largest commercial insurers in the world, with a global footprint in 54 countries and excellent employee benefits, then we would love to hear from you The Reserving Data & Reporting Manager is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of data and reporting of results within the Chubb EMEA reserving function with a particular emphasis on the quarterly actuarial reserving analyses that influence key business decision making. You will work to maintain as well as establish new data and reporting processes with a particular focus on automation and continuous improvement - shining a light on areas of attention / improvement. You will be a member of the Chubb EMEA reserving function which consists of 17 London based colleagues and covers all business classes written across Chubb’s EMEA insurance entities. The role requires a collaborative, team-based approach to working and the ability to manage conflicting demands in a timely manner. The role holder will be expected to take strong personal ownership for the responsibilities of the role and to demonstrate an ability to, pro-actively, develop appropriate solutions to meet the data requirements of the reserving team. Key responsibilities: Ownership of the ongoing regular data and reporting processes within the reserving function, with a key but not exclusive focus on the GAAP reserving process, to produce accurate data and results to meet internal and external reporting deadlines. Supporting the reserving team’s management and statutory reporting requirements with the relevant regulatory authorities as appropriate e.g. ACPR, PRA, Lloyd’s. Ensuring processes are always carried out in line with the required control environment, for example Sarbanes Oxley regulation, including developing, maintaining and reporting appropriate evidence of the process for internal and external audit purposes. Acting as point contact for data provision and queries for external parties, such as auditors and external consultants, including developing efficient processes for meeting these requirements. Managing the delivery of ad-hoc queries and requests from various different stakeholders in relation to the reserving data and analyses. Pro-actively maximising the use of systems and software to customise the production of data and reporting within the reserving function. Leading on driving automation and efficiency across all data provision and reporting processes. Driving continuous improvement around data quality and encouraging a culture of investigation, analysis as well as implementation of the best practice solutions. Bringing consistency of format / approach to data processing, reconciliations and reporting. Building and managing relationships with colleagues in other functions to support effective and consistent execution of data and reporting processes. Maintaining and developing both own technical knowledge and expertise. Qualifications Required Skills & Experience: 5-10 years Data and Analytics experience A great teammate with a strong desire to achieve excellence. Advanced SQL and Excel Skills Proficient in VBA and macro creation Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) Tools. (QlikView, Qlik Sense, SQL server, etc.) Experience manipulating data and producing reports for management Excellent listening and communication skills Experienced in MS Office Packages Lateral thinking and problem-solving abilities Excellent written communication and strong analytical skills, with an ability to challenge and probe to understand the underlying root cause of issues. Self-starter and able to recognise opportunities for improvement and to act on those opportunities. Process orientated, an organiser with strong planning ability and attention to detail.
