Are you a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with a strong command of AWS and Go? We’re seeking a talented contractor to join our client’s innovative team, developing solutions that have a global impact.
About Our Client:
Our client is a fast-growing scale-up based in Manchester, known for delivering cutting-edge archiving and supervision solutions to the Financial Services industry. Their platform captures and monitors digital communications—including emails, MS Teams conversations, and iMessages—to help businesses stay compliant with ever-evolving regulations.
Following significant investment from a US growth equity firm, they are poised for rapid expansion and are looking for top engineering talent to drive the next phase of their journey.
Key Product Features:
* Cloud Native: Scalable infrastructure tailored to meet diverse business needs.
* Data Sovereignty: Flexible options for data storage locations, ensuring compliance with global regulations.
* Advanced Web Content Recording: Capturing dynamic web content, including modern applications that others struggle to handle.
* SaaS Platform: An intuitive interface providing full-text search, analysis, and reporting features.
* Efficient Search & Download: Easily access and retrieve archived content directly from the platform.
What You’ll Do:
You will be a crucial member of a newly formed team tasked with developing an industry-leading product central to our client’s strategic growth. This is a hands-on role, where you’ll work extensively with AWS services, develop backend systems in Go, and contribute to the front-end using React and Remix. You’ll also have the opportunity to research and implement new technologies, solve complex problems, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, scalable software.
Responsibilities:
* Lead by Example: Demonstrate technical excellence through hands-on coding and problem-solving. Set the tone for best practices and drive the team forward.
* Full-Stack & Cloud Development: Own the full technology stack, from frontend (React, Remix) to backend (Go) and cloud infrastructure (AWS). Ensure seamless CI/CD pipeline integration and infrastructure as code practices.
* Technical Design: Contribute to and lead the technical design process, bringing innovative solutions and critically evaluating ideas for effective implementation.
* Automation & Scripting: Develop robust automation solutions using scripting languages (bash, AppleScript) to streamline workflows on MacOS and Linux.
* CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring consistent and scalable code deployments.
* Mentorship: Provide guidance to less experienced colleagues, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment through peer programming, code reviews, and open technical discussions.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with product, design, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
* Security Best Practices: Identify and mitigate security risks throughout the development process, ensuring robust and secure infrastructure.
What You Bring:
* Generalist Mindset: Comfortable working across a wide range of technologies and eager to learn new tools as required.
* Problem-Solving Enthusiasm: You enjoy tackling complex, undefined challenges and finding innovative solutions.
* Early-Stage Contribution: Motivated to shape the architecture and technology of a new platform from the ground up.
* Adaptability & Flexibility: Proficiency in Go, AWS, and React is preferred, but you’re open to adapting to the best tools for the job.
* Collaborative Nature: You value effective communication and teamwork, whether with technical peers or non-technical stakeholders.
* Ownership & Initiative: You take pride in your work, owning projects from concept to delivery, and continually seeking ways to improve processes and products.
* Continuous Improvement: Passionate about optimising existing systems for greater efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
This is an exciting opportunity for a contractor looking to make a big impact on a rapidly scaling product all whilst working with some of the latest and greatest technologies.
