Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience).

About the Role:
As a Secondary Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities to teach at Key Stage 5. You will ignite curiosity, encourage analytical thinking, and develop students’ practical skills, preparing them for success in their GCSE and A-Level examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across the science curriculum, specialising in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.
* Inspire students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical scientific skills.
* Use a variety of teaching methodologies, including practical demonstrations, interactive learning, and digital resources, to enhance engagement.
* Assess, monitor, and support students’ progress, providing targeted feedback and personalised interventions.
* Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level science examinations, ensuring high levels of academic achievement.
* Maintain a safe and well-organised laboratory environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
* Foster a passion for scientific discovery and research, encouraging participation in STEM-related extracurricular activities.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the science curriculum, ensuring it remains innovative and aligned with national standards.
* Engage with parents, carers, and external stakeholders to support students’ academic and personal development.
Secondary Science Teacher requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Science.
* Proven experience teaching Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at secondary level, with a strong track record of academic success.
* A deep understanding of the national curriculum and assessment requirements for science.
* The ability to create engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning needs.
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and challenge students effectively.
* A commitment to raising attainment and fostering a love for science.
* Experience conducting scientific experiments, laboratory work, and research-based learning activities.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
