The Opportunity: Working as a Project Support Engineer within the Exteriors team, you have an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation and play a vital role in shaping our cutting-edge projects. What you’ll do: Under the guidance of a Project Manager, you will be instrumental in supporting the co-ordination of cost and mass tracking and reporting across the Exteriors function group. overseeing cost and mass tracking by utilizing internal tools and methodologies. Ownership of the BOM (Bill of materials) management for the Exteriors function group, your primary focus is on maintaining content quality and extending support to interfacing teams throughout the business (such as other function groups, EDM (Engineering Data Management), Programme, Purchasing). Collaborate with the project engineers through sprints and gateways to ensure quality of reporting up the programme team Ensure that weight targets are efficiently assigned and achieved at every stage of the design process. You will be responsible for organising design activities to align with engineering deliverables' timelines. Contribution towards developing comprehensive and efficient engineering ETRS (Engineering Timing and Releasing Schedule) and Commodity plans and schedules, actively involved in planning individual activities. Support styling engagement to ensure delivery of feasible design solutions with regard to manufacturing, assembly and homologation. Co-ordinate with Senior Engineers, Project Managers and Project Engineers to ensure technical targets, program timings and budgetary requirements are met. Liaise with the Test and Development workshop to support workshop activities pre, during, post-vehicle build and testing. Provide support in the delivery of presenting concepts, design status updates, and metric reports to client project teams, client senior management, project suppliers, and internally within the Company. Propose and support improvements to business processes and ways of working. Support the engineering team during and beyond the engineering release, prototype build, test and production launch phases. Who you are: Automotive experience preferable but not essential. An interest in automotives, automotive technology, familiarity with systems and naming conventions. Familiarity with 3DX/Catia, JIRA, MS Office Suite (especially Excel and Powerpoint), MS Dynamics preferred but not essential. Ability and willingness to travel between offices in the UK (midlands/Surrey) and overseas as required therefore a valid passport is required.
