Due to the retirement of one of our Partners, and our currentSalaried GP joining the partnership, we are looking for a Salaried GP to joinour close-knit, supportive team.
Main duties of the job
- To work within the clinical team, manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients
- To work within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that patient care is carried out to the highest standards
- To carry out duties in a professional manner and adhere to all Cerne Abbas Surgery protocols, policies and guidelines at all times.

Who we are looking for:
- Fully qualified GP, registered with theGeneral Medical Council (GMC) and on the GP register.
- Experience in primary care with a strongcommitment to patient care.
- Flexibility, excellent communication skills,and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Someone who is proactive, organised, and ableto manage their workload efficiently.
- Comfortable with paperwork and able to handleoccasional IT challenges.

Clinical Responsibilities:
- In accordance with the practice timetable, asagreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety ofduties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries,visiting patients at home, checking and signing prescriptions (repeat ´paper & electronic) and dealing with queries, paperwork, results andcorrespondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions inrelation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from otherhealth care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patientswith undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factorsand early signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line withcurrent Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for healthand document on the patient record; coding as appropriate
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and fromthe caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneousconsultation notes to agreed standards on SystmOne
- Collecting/entering coding data for auditpurposes, for example Practice QoF details and LESDES requirements andparticipate in the responsibilities for these.
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acuteand repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions wheneverpossible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the Practiceprescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- Provide Duty Doctor support to theadministrative and clinical teams when required to do so, a minimum of one daya week on call
- Shared responsibility for Casterbridge ManorCare home, including once a week phone call for up to 2 hours, plus visits
- In general the post-holder will be expected toundertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GPworking within primary care.
