Role Title: SCADA Solar Winds Architect/SME
Duration: contract to run until 13/06/2025
Location: Birmingham, 70% remote, 30% onsite
Rate: up to 708.75 p/d Umbrella inside IR35
Clearance required: Active Security Clearance
Role purpose / summary
The SolarWinds Architect/SME is responsible for integrating and potential implementation and/or configuration of the organization's SolarWinds environment. This role requires a strong understanding of SolarWinds and its various components, including network configuration, on-boarding network devices, troubleshooting and support.
The SolarWinds Architect/SME will work closely with other IT teams to ensure that SolarWinds is being used effectively to monitor and manage the IT infrastructure within an on-premises secure environment.
Key Skills/Requirements
1. Strong understanding of SolarWinds and its various components (Network Performance Monitor, Server & Application Monitor)
2. Extensive experience with SolarWinds installation, configuration and administration in an on-premises environment.
3. Ability to design and implement custom SolarWinds monitoring templates, alerts, reports and dashboards to meet specific design and business requirements.
4. Expert in network monitoring protocols and system performance metrics.
5. Excellent collaboration, communication and troubleshooting skills to address performance issues.
Desirable Skills:
1. SolarWinds certification.
2. Experience with other monitoring tools such as Virtualization Manager, Storage Resource Monitor.
3. Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware VCF and storage systems.
4. Ability to understand High Level and Low Level designs, whilst able to create and update documentation.
5. Refine and improve build processes. Supporting and creating a trusted space for build SMEs.
6. Ensure documentation and activities are tracked and allocated.
