The Treasurer to the Board of Trustees is responsible for ensuring the organisation’s financial viability by maintaining proper financial records and procedures along with decisions and delegations.
Specific Treasurer Duties
1. Ensure that the Board of Trustees receives appropriate budgetary and financial information on the Charity activities, including Annual Accounts.
2. Ensure all accounts are prepared and disclosed in the form required by funders and relevant statutory bodies, including the Charity Commission.
3. Recommend to the Board of Trustees appropriate accounting procedures, controls, and policies consistent with the scheme of delegation.
4. Oversee the appointment of auditors and review on a regular basis.
5. Work in close partnership with relevant Charity staff in executing financial responsibilities and advising on the financial implications of the Charity’s strategic plans.
In addition to the person specification for a Trustee, the Treasurer should have the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
1. Qualified accountant or relevant qualifications and experience.
2. Experience of charity finance and fundraising.
3. Ability to analyze proposals and examine their financial consequences.
4. Willingness to challenge decisions and provide appropriate recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
Time Out Group is a community-based member-led independent Charity offering supported activities for adults 18+ with a learning disability and/or autism. We have been operating for over 23 years and are run by a team of skilled staff and governed by a team of experienced Trustees. Time Out Group operates across Cheshire East and surrounding areas, including Greater Manchester.
Time Out Group offers fun and educational activities in and around the community, including cooking skills and wellbeing-focused activities such as gardening and trips out. We operate 6 days per week with 9 sessions currently on offer to the membership.
