As a Senior Actuarial Investment Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing professional capital modelling or other actuarial advice to the business to support the investment and wider business decision making process. Key responsibilities With support of the Head of investments, take a lead role and act as subject matter expert in respect of the Group’s capital model design and calibration for investment and market risk. Support the Head of Investments in delivery of investment analysis, including capital modelling, to support the setting of the Group’s investment strategy. Monitor changes in the ESG model from the external provider and analyse their impact on Group Capital. Timely delivery of quarterly Market risk and Economic Scenario Generator (ESG) updates to Group Capital Team accurately reflecting changes in the Group’s investment risk profile and current economic conditions. Present and justify changes in model design and calibration to a panel of actuarial managers for independent challenge. Prepare reports to the Group’s internal model governance oversight committee that summarise changes to Market risk and/or ESG model design or calibration for review by the Head of Investments. Design solutions to close model weaknesses and limitations identified in respect of market risk modelling. Maintain market risk & ESG documentation for the Group’s internal capital model including model output analysis, Calibration and Methodology, Weaknesses and Limitations logs. Leads development of investment data solutions to support model inputs in respect of the Group’s investment portfolio. Contributes to discussions within the team or department where appropriate. Able to participate in technical actuarial discussions on market risk and actuarial concepts covered in professional studies. Key contact on market risk for Group actuarial teams (Capital Modelling, Reserving and Pricing), Finance and Group’s ESG provider. Knowledge, skills and experience Degree in relevant math-based subject, 6 exams achieved in actuarial studies. Relevant experience within an actuarial role Strong communication skills, with proven ability to build effective relationships. Strong technical skill set; applies existing technical knowledge to new situations as they arise. Demonstrates sound and commercial judgement and ability to design practical and proportionate solutions. Proven willingness and ability to get out into and proactively engage with and challenge the business.
