Wood is recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Upstream business within our Operations team focusing on providing structural engineering support to the Client contract and execute work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client and project standards. This position will be hired on a limited contractor basis for a period of 12 months, outside IR35. This position is based in our Head Office in Aberdeen with Hybrid working.
The Role
We are currently growing our project and modification portfolio which includes projects in full lifecycles ranging from early Study / FEED into detail design. In this role the Senior Structural Engineer will use their technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Scope of Work
1. Provide structural engineering support to the Client contract as required
2. Execute assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client and project standards
3. Originate and check structural engineering deliverables as required on Client Contract within budget and schedule
4. Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology
5. Manage discipline CTR's, provide input to estimates, proposals, plans and progress
6. Develop calculation packages as required
7. Present and describe engineering solutions and concept competently to both technical and non-technical audience
8. Support quality & technical assurance activities as required
QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:
1. Degree in engineering discipline, alternatively, tertiary level education combined with suitable industry experience can be used to demonstrate equivalence
2. Professional knowledge and extensive progressive experience in general engineering
3. Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during course of performing assignments
4. Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
5. Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution
Desirable:
1. Chartered Engineer (or working towards)
