We are currently looking for 2 Electrical Supervisor – Verification Surveyor to join our successful and dynamic Trade Services Team. Your next role Working within the existing Trade Services team, you will be responsible for the supervision of a medium size electrical team and an established set of contractors completing electrical repairs, electrical testing, domestic and commercial electrical improvements, fire alarm testing maintenance and repairs, PATS testing and access control repairs and maintenance, within our Housing, Corporate and Operational buildings, as well being our Qualifying Supervisor for Swindon Borough Councils NICEIC registration. As part of your duties you will be asked to review the existing service delivery, with the aim to implement new strategies to ensure that Swindon Borough Council assets are maintained to a high standard within available resources. You will also be asked to work with both residents, tenants, Councillors and the Health and Safety Executive both face to face and at meetings, reporting findings and delivering presentations in relation to Fire Safety. As the Electrical Supervisor – Verification surveyor, we require you to have the following Qualifications and experience; Qualifications Construction or Social Housing experience essential, City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical Installation (or equivalent) City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection) BS7671:2018 – Wiring Regulations 18th Edition CITB SSSTS (or equivalent) Current driving licence Experience Good working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act Proven track record of supervising a team within an electrical maintenance environment. Previous experience of managing/prioritising a varied/demanding workload. Previous experience of managing registration to the NICEIC Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with Operatives, Sub-contractors and Client Officers Knowledge of standing orders and procurement regulations IT literate with advanced excel capability (pivots/graphs/formulae etc.) Experience in delivering presentations to senior management team. Ability to run training in relation to Electrical safety to both technical and non-technical staff The ability to travel throughout the Borough will be required and access to a car. You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
