Description Class 2 Driver Salary: £13.50-£14 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day Position Overview: A Class 2 Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, materials, or equipment using a rigid vehicle over 3.5 tonnes (Category C). This role involves delivering and collecting loads to and from specified locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while adhering to road safety regulations and company policies. The driver must perform vehicle safety checks, manage loading and unloading procedures, and maintain accurate delivery records. Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle route planning, traffic conditions, and delivery schedules efficiently are key to success in this role. Main Responsibilities: Safely operate Category C (Class 2) vehicles in compliance with road laws and company policies. Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring safe handling of cargo. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, reporting any faults or defects. Plan and follow delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. Complete delivery paperwork, including manifests and logs, ensuring accuracy. Adhere to health and safety regulations and company procedures. Maintain good customer service by communicating professionally with clients. Ensure secure and proper storage of loads to prevent damage during transit. Operate tail lifts, pallet trucks, or other equipment as required for deliveries. Follow driver working time regulations and rest period requirements.
