Planning Manager – Thames Valley area

Reporting to the Land Director, within the Land team and working closely within our close-knit team this is a brilliant opportunity to make your mark at one of the UK’s leading housebuilders.
What you will do
1. Provide planning advice to the relevant technical, commercial, land and construction departments.
2. Work hand in hand with the land department in the review of future residential land opportunities across the region.
3. Prepare and manage planning applications through the entire planning process.
4. Appoint and manage external consultant project team for planning applications and prepare and maintain project fee budgets.
5. Manage the discharge of condition process and clearance of s106 planning obligations.
6. Represent the company with Local Authorities, Stakeholder Meetings and Community Engagement.
What you will have
1. You will have knowledge and experience of working through the planning application and discharge of condition process to deliver implementable planning consents and enable a start on site.
2. You will be able to demonstrate a full understanding of the planning system, and the procedures involved in the identification and promotion of residential land through the planning process and in the management of planning applications.
3. You will have a clear understanding of planning legislation, national policy, and development plans, both new and emerging, that will affect the delivery of the supply of land for housing and the detail of residential schemes that are promoted.
4. You will be able to work under own initiative and manage project teams.
5. The ideal candidate may well be working within the planning department of a local authority; with another regional or national house builder; or a planning consultancy.
6. You will have completed an RTPI accredited degree or equivalent qualification.
