Job Overview
As a Foreman within BES, you will be supporting our growing business in the Nuclear Decommissioning, Construction and Renewable Energy sectors. You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day workshop (Bower) or site works activities in various locations across Caithness. You will be responsible for supervising and leading a team; providing hands-on assistance; troubleshooting and making decisions; and ensuring the health, safety, environmental impacts and quality of the work for which your team is responsible is in line with our policies and procedures.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm

Key Responsibilities
1. You will report to the Workshop Manager
2. You will be the responsible person for a particular project and be required to supervise and assist the associated team of Fitter/Fabricators, Welders, Technicians, etc. assigned to each project for which you are responsible
3. Liaise with the Workshop Manager and/or other Foremen in the planning of works to meet deadlines and the corresponding allocation and shared use of resources and/or equipment between teams/projects
4. Be able to take the initiative and lead the daily workshop or site works activities such as fitting, fabricating, welding, testing, installation, and prototyping on your project(s)
5. To read engineering drawings and be able to conduct a team to produce fabrications to a high standard of finish
6. Know when to make key project decisions yourself and know when to report to others first
7. To lead and act as the site supervisor for any site works projects
8. To oversee and assist with maintenance on workshop tooling, equipment and plant
9. To ensure safe working practices at all times
10. Work within an ISO Quality Management System and lead each job accordingly ensuring all quality documentation (such as quality plans and job cards) is complete and up to date
Required Skills, Experience and Competencies
1. Must have previous mechanical and leadership experience in a similar role
2. Must have excellent problem-solving skills
3. Must have good written and spoken communications skills
4. Must be well organised and work well under pressure
5. Site works experience is a bonus
6. Pipe fitting experience is desirable
7. Previous experience in the Nuclear Decommissioning industry is an advantage
