EAL Teaching Assistant
Teaching Personnel are currently searching for individuals who can support a number of EAL students across Carmarthenshire.
As an EAL Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support students who are learning English as an additional language. You will work closely with the EAL Coordinator and classroom teachers to provide targeted assistance to students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, including Arabic, Ukrainian, Polish, Bengali, and Russian.
Job Duties:
* Assist EAL students in improving their English language skills through one-on-one or small group sessions
* Support classroom teachers in adapting curriculum materials to meet the needs of EAL students
* Help create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for EAL students
* Monitor and assess the progress of EAL students and provide feedback to teachers and parents
* Collaborate with the EAL Coordinator to develop individualised learning plans for students
The ideal candidate will have:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong command of the English language, both verbally and in reading and writing
* Ability to speak Arabic, Ukrainian, Polish, Bengali, Russian, or other relevant languages
* Understanding of language acquisition and language learning strategies
* Knowledge of cultural diversity and sensitivity
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
* Experience with assessment tools for EAL students
* The ability to travel around to places around Carmarthenshire, so an individual with a UK driving licence is preferred

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
