This is a new and exciting role that challenges candidates to lead SEO initiatives at Boots Online Doctor by collaborating with multiple teams to create and execute content strategies and grow inbound traffic. To excel in this position, the candidate will need to continuously analyse and spot opportunities to improve our organic positions. Furthermore, they will work closely with the Boots PR team to build awareness and trust through proactive and reactive digital PR.
You will be hands-on with SEO tools, coordinate with stakeholders, and co-craft compelling campaign ideas that attract coverage.
About the role
This is a dual role, but with one ultimate outcome, which is to continue the growth of organic search traffic, referral traffic & GP (gross profit) for Boots Online Doctor. You will report into the SEO and Product Manager, working within a cross-functional marketing team with creatives and channel owners. The professional in this role will also need to forge relationships outside of the team and be open to expanding their skills in each side of the role.
Key responsibilities:
• Support in the execution of SEO at Boots Online Doctor (BOD), working with the SEO Lead, copywriting & design team and digital product function
• Be the owner of growing referral traffic from our partner websites, such as the main boots.com domain, the Boots Health Hub and using other major Boots partnerships
• Shape the direction of BOD’s PR strategy to ensure it supports SEO and work with the Boots PR team to ideate, plan and co-manage campaigns
• Be a practical ‘doer’ who can, for example, brief a content series on menopause drug choices, based on keyword research showing the common questions & then work with copywriters to ensure best SEO practice
• Furthermore, be able to take briefs from internal and external teams to work with our content team to build SEO focused content roadmaps to support other company initiatives
• Analyse search trends to inform ideas for storytelling across different channels. Work with Boots PR team to develop stories, working with subject matter experts including Doctors.
• Sitting within the marketing team and reporting into SEO Lead, but with lines of communication across PR, clinical, commercial and marketing teams at Boots Digital Health and other key stakeholders
What you’ll need to have
• Good knowledge of SEO Tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush
• Intermediate competence using analytics platforms including Google Analytics
• Great knowledge of content, what makes good content and how to optimise and research for different content outputs
• Ability to work with copywriters to produce written content such as press releases, different assets and website components
• Proven ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to deliver digital PR campaigns
• 3+ years’ experience in hands-on SEO
• An ability to create unique stories and compelling campaign ideas that really stand out and attract coverage.
It would be great if you also have
• Agency background preferable, ability to work in a multidisciplinary action area within SEO and beyond
• Experience working within a regulated industry
