Job Description Reporting to – Defence Manager This role is addition to, and in support of, the existing site Security Manager. The core element of the role is to ensure that, where required and necessitated by contract, UTAC UK’s facilities are compliant from a security standpoint. Role will also aid in development of an effective personnel security culture within the company including implementation of National Security Vetting and aftercare within the company and any subordinate organisations that the company provides sponsorship for. In addition, this role is responsible for interpreting, implementing and monitoring security controls for the appropriate protection of Government Classified assets (including, but not limited to GFA/GFE) held on site. Elements of this role can be carried out by other individuals, such as a suitably empowered Deputy or vetting team. However, responsibility for oversight and delivery of any of the activities associated with the role rests with the SC. Role and Responsibilities These duties are to be undertaken in addition to the duties of your substantive role. The establishment and oversight of an organisation’s approach to Security including: Liaising within the company, and between the company and the DSO or security officials of the relevant Contracting Authority; Co-ordinating the planning of appropriate security controls for a new contract or for the alteration of buildings where classified assets are to be handled, stored or produced; Arranging for appropriate security education and awareness training, particularly for new, young or inexperienced employees, to ensure that they understand the scale, nature of the threats and protective security controls required; Ensuring that any breach of security is immediately reported immediately to the respective Contracting Authority and, if appropriate the regional police and that the circumstances are fully investigated, the outcome is recorded in the company breaches register; Ensuring that any security incident involving government classified information is reported to the contracting Authority. Security incidents involving MOD owned, processed or generated information is to be immediately reported to the MOD Defence Industry Warning, Advice and Reporting Point (WARP) in the Joint Security Co-ordination Centre (JSyCC); Sitting on the Information Security Board (ISB) to support the wider Proving Ground activity, ensuring total compliance with required security processes. Supporting the UTAC Security Manager in controlling the site, perimeter, secure buildings and similar controls. Facilitate where necessary visits and inspections by individuals representing either the Government or Contracting Authority and to ensure any relevant documentation, process or records are available for inspection. Interpreting, implementing and monitoring security controls for the appropriate maintenance of personnel security for National Security Vetted staff either in the employment of the company or subcontractor. Responsible for ensuring the Board, and senior managers are aware of and discharge their security obligations and business choices in respect of personnel security risks and controls. Active management in the setting of personnel security risk levels, appropriate to the company and acceptable to the Contracting Authority. Overall responsibility for pre-vetting checks (BPSS) and the subsequent National Security Vetting process. Ensuring that processes are in place to brief/de-brief Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) cleared staff who may travel to certain foreign countries, either on business or privately. Contributes to strategic plans, which satisfy the current and ongoing needs of the company’s business strategy, and its current and future capabilities.
