Description About the role We are looking for experienced and talented development professionals, ideally based in the North who share our vision and values, to join our team and help us deliver our exciting new build programme. You will be joining Guinness at a fantastic time with a real opportunity to influence how we manage the delivery of our major, complex development and regeneration projects. Reporting to a Senior Clerk of Works and Construction Design & Quality Manager, you’ll be primarily responsible for: Monitoring the quality of all materials and workmanship, ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations, Building warranty, Guinness Building Contract, drawings and specifications. Undertake regular technical inspections, including snagging to ensure completion to the required standard. Work in close partnership with the contractor, consultants and internal teams, to support the overall objectives of construction to time, cost and quality of the project. Work with our consultant Employers Agents to advise of potential problems and establish satisfactory construction outcomes. Ensuring the Golden Thread of information and detailing is well managed and documented appropriately and for providing specific contract and general technical support to the team. Using Dashpivot or an equivalent software system to record monthly and weekly site inspections. What we’re looking for Ideally, you will be an experienced Clerk of Works, or construction and trade professional, with a passion for delivering a high standard of build quality and compliance throughout the construction process. We’re a customer-focused organisation, so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You’ll not only be knowledgeable in the construction sector, but you’ll also have great customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done. You’ll also be able to demonstrate: Proven construction experience in either a trade role or supervisory/ management role. Knowledge of current building regulations. Proven customer service experience. Good attention to detail. Knowledge of contractual and non-contractual defects. Technical construction skills. Appropriate Construction Skills certification card (CSCS). There will be regular travel required as part of this role, including some overnight stays. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role. Essential Qualifications: Minimum HNC/HND in Construction / Surveying of the Built Environment or equivalent Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works (ICWCI) or CIOB, RICS (any membership grade, including student) In return for your hard work, we offer: Competitive salary of £48,136 per annum 25 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays, increases with length of service.
