Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Four Ashes, Wolverhampton, West Midlands, UK
Contract and Shift: Permanent Mon - Sun 8.45pm - 7.15am. Seven on, seven off night shift.
About the role:
The Maintenance Technician will provide knowledge and skills to assist with the ongoing maintenance, calibration and servicing of instruments that are fundamental in the laboratory operations. The position is based at the Four Ashes site and the role has a working shift pattern of a seven on/seven off night shift.
They will also provide the knowledge and skills to assist with the ongoing testing and registration of samples when no equipment requires fixing.
There is also the requirement to provide cover and attend training on the dayshift.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that the equipment is operating to maximum efficiency.
2. Complete and maintain accurate maintenance records.
3. Ensure that standard operating procedures and quality checks are followed.
4. Work with shift management to identify and prioritise equipment issues when they are identified.
5. Carry out calibrations of laboratory equipment.
6. Carry out PAT testing.
7. Carry out stock control.
8. To undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by Management.
Essential Key Skills:
1. Electrical engineering qualification or background is desirable.
2. Ability to understand, follow and convey technical instructions.
3. Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Good analytical skills.
5. Good organisational and time management skills.
6. Ability to work in a team environment.
7. The ability to maintain and calibrate technical equipment.
8. Computer literate and a competent user of Microsoft Office Products.
Successful candidates will be technically minded, self-motivated problem solvers who are inquisitive about understanding machine mechanics.
