Homologation Engineer Purpose of the Role This position requires the applicant to support a positive approach to managing and enhancing business products, services and processes. Applying automotive quality tools, processes and working practices to ensure the company and its diverse customers’ product quality expectations are satisfied and continually improved. This role will require a candidate with a proactive approach to support business ideals and customer relations while enhancing the Engineering teams and efficiency. The base for this position will be at our new state of the art facility in Dartford and may require occasional travel to support manufacturing partners. Responsibilities Support assembly plant clearances and management of any changes to the value stream impacting type approval and conformity of production Support product and project teams with new type approvals, type approval extensions, regulation revisions and cessation of production. Support the Quality Assurance function in undertaking all Conformity of Production (CoP) requirements throughout the supply chain. Support the organisation in raising competencies and awareness of the type approval, conformity of production and homologation processes both internally and externally. Taking ownership and responsibility of the organisation’s documented type approval, conformity of production and product conformance processes and procedures. Supporting the procurement department to ensure that the value stream is fully compliant with respect to assembly plant clearances and post product release continuing conformity of production. Supporting product managers and their respective new product and project management teams to ensure that new type approvals, extension to scope and cessation of production records are maintained. To liaise with and be the representative for the organisation in communications to test services and the respective authorities. To liaise with and be the representative for the organisation to support customer whole vehicle homologation activities. Providing support and cover to other roles within the Quality Assurance team as required throughout the year Education, Training & Experience Relevant further education and/or apprenticeship to a minimum of national diploma level in allied engineering trade. Actively engages with a relevant industry institute, such as the “Institute of Engineering & Technology” (IET) or the “Chartered Quality Institute” (CQI). At least three years’ relevant industry experience within customer and supplier facing role. Experienced in working within the automotive supply chain (Prime, Tier 1 or OEM) or an industry aligned/allied with the industry Conformity of Production (CoP), Type Approval, Homologation, CE, UKCA, FCC, IC, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, International Material Data System (IMDS), Supplier Auditing & IATF 16949:2016 Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction. Decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations. Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively. Attention to detail in planning, execution, and follow-through. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding goals and objectives. Proactive, enthusiastic, and driven. Flexibility to work beyond normal business hours when required
