Job Advert: Criminal and Civil Litigation Lawyer Salary: £48,530 – £54,064 Location: Abingdon/Oxford Contract Type: Permanent/Full-Time Are you an experienced legal professional looking to make a meaningful impact? Join our dynamic legal team and play a pivotal role in handling criminal and civil litigation work for the councils. Key Responsibilities: Manage criminal litigation cases, including prosecutions, appeals, and inquiries. Represent the councils in courts, tribunals, and inquiries. Handle debt recovery following council procedures. Provide expert advice on environmental law, including statutory nuisance and contaminated land. Advise on all licensing matters and represent the councils at licensing committee hearings. Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, with flexibility to attend courts and external meetings. Essential Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent qualification/experience. A minimum of two years’ experience in relevant legal work. Up-to-date knowledge of criminal and civil litigation law and practice. Proven advocacy experience, confident in representing cases at Magistrates’, County, and Crown Courts.
