The Role:
Working as part of a 2-man team, you will be required to deliver to residential premises and deliver to a room of choice and assemble beds where required.
To delight our customers with an exceptional customer experience ensuring every task is carried out with our customers in mind.
To be the face of Bensons for our customers, ensuring we drive courteously, give a warm greeting, handling products with care as you deliver products on time and to a room of their choice following the guidance in our Customer Delivery Charter
Rate of Pay:
This role is driving a 7.5t Vehicle (C1), however the candidate will be paid based on the licence they hold:
7.5t licence holders - £13.96 Mon Fri, Sat and overtime rate (after 48 hours) £20.94
Class 2 licence holders - £17.00 Mon Fri, Sat and overtime rate (after 48 hours) £25.50
Class 1 licence holders - £18.00 Mon Fri, Sat and overtime rate (after 48 hours) £27.00
Start times: Between 06:00, with approx. 13 drops
Candidates will be booked for 5 days, with the option of a 6th day when required.
This role is ongoing until February 2025 and may lead to a permanent position for the right candidates
JOB SPECIFICATION...
Ensure your vehicle is clean and fit for the next delivery in order to represent Bensons in our
communities.
Ensure compliance with all transport legal requirements; planning, pre-brief and de-brief
processes.
Ensure adherence to the company uniform policy including personal ID.
Engage all customers by communicating in a warm, friendly and professional manner ensuring
they are left with a positive impression of our service., championing Bensons products and doing
all you can to deliver a great customer experience.
Answer customer queries and feed back to Warehouse and Transport teams in order to resolve
outstanding issues.
When safe and legal to do so, answer and respond to all incoming calls in a prompt and polite
manner.
Ensure a dynamic risk assessment is completed prior to the delivery to avoid safety issues,
measuring the stairwell aperture where necessary to account for the larger products sold.
Ensure overshoes are worn in customers homes and gloves used during the delivery.
Deliver all products to the customers room of choice.
Install bedroom products once trained and capable to do so as required.
Collect customers old products for recycling as required, ensuring they are suitably over
bagged with green recycling bag to prevent contamination on the vehicle.
Collect customer returns and 40 night guarantees, ensuring they are suitably over bagged
labelled and secured safely in the vehicle for return transit.
Leave customer homes tidy, recycling any packaging that has been removed.
Ensure customers are left with a business card with your details on and inform them of our
feedback survey.
Ensure that the Home Delivery process is adhered to and that the PDA is updated correctly
Keep up to date with all relevant training regarding product handling, assembly, health and
safety and the Delivery Charter.
Support a culture where the customer is at the heart of everything we do.
Ensure outbound / inbound paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.
Ensure all health and safety requirements are adhered to when driving, parking and loading /
unloading the vehicle.
Ensure the vehicle is safe, legal and operational by completing daily checks and reporting issues
as you find them.
Work with warehouse teams to ensure products are loaded and wrapped correctly to stop
damage, feeding back opportunities for improvement.
Take care of products as if they were your own for deliveries and customer collections, ensuring
the product is packaged and kept clean at all times.
Carry out warehouse and cross docking duties as required.

Qualification and experience:
UK driving licence Cat C1, C, CE, held for a minimum of 3 Months with no more than 6 points for minor offences
Valid drivers CPC DQ card / valid driver's digital card
Previous experience and understanding of using digital tachographs
Previous experience within a customer facing role
