Job summary We have an opportunity for a Children, Young People and Families Practitioner to join the organisation on a permanent basis. Reporting to one of our Children, Young People and Families Project Managers, you will be responsible for providing timely, responsive, short term therapeutic support to children and young people aged 0-17 who are experiencing self-defined crisis or have recently accessed other parts of Greater Manchesters Crisis Care Services. You will be a pivotal role in strengthening the relationship between VCSE organisations and NHS pathways, working with partners to accept referrals into Safe Zones. You will be providing holistic assessments, de-escalation and prevention of further crisis experience, therapeutic interventions and support for the young persons wider support network. You will work within a trauma informed, person centred approach, ensuring the child or young persons needs are always at the centre of decision making. You will bring strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships, foster collaboration and communicate empathically with families. You will bring knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care sector and be committed to cross sector working to bring about positive change for the young people and families you support. You will be able to demonstrate active listening and curiosity skills and value preventative strategies in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
