A leading international business that provides critical solutions in clean energy, defence, and civils new build is currently recruiting for a Subcontract Procurement Lead on a full-time permanent basis.
Role: Subcontract Procurement Lead - NEC experience required

Location: Bridgwater (hybrid working, 2 days onsite per week)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Engagement with key internal and external project stakeholders.
2. Compliance with procurement and safety processes.
3. Lead partner company subcontract procurements.
4. Liaise with the Construction team to understand upcoming requirements and develop and maintain the Partner Tender Event Schedule (TES).
5. Raise Subcontracts in accordance with governance requirements to meet NNB HPC Project and business objectives.
6. Identify procurement scope gaps and propose and implement mitigation measures.
7. Complete reporting for management highlighting successes, blockers, mitigations, and forecast work.
8. Demonstrate value for money by applying 'best for project' procurement principles.
9. Production of procurement strategies, selection of tenderers, drafting and issuing Invitation to Tender documents, leading the cross-functional team through the tender assessment process, writing and presenting tender recommendation reports, and completing subcontract award governance.
10. Support post-award subcontract management, contract administration, and supplier performance management.
11. Production of common Forms of Contract (NEC & bespoke Subcontracts) within the power construction industry and/or a major projects and programme environment.
12. Negotiating subcontract terms with suppliers and seeking agreement of those terms with both the Client and Partner company stakeholders.
13. Maintain thorough records of procurement process steps undertaken and support reviews and audits as required.
14. Make sound commercial decisions on complex matters of high financial value.
15. Reporting to project management on subcontract procurement status, risks, and subcontractor performance.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
1. Proven track record in subcontract procurement; extensive NEC contract experience is essential.
2. Eligibility to gain baseline security clearance - BPSS.
3. Good understanding of the UK regulatory framework.
4. Committed to continuous improvement and able to apply this to project working practices and procedures.
5. Leads by example, sets the right behaviours, demonstrates a 'best for project' ethos.
6. Can think laterally and flexibly to deliver solutions, with a 'process-driven' focus to delivery.
7. Demonstrates strong communication skills, liaising effectively with peers, other functions, delivery partner, and Client teams.
