Responsibilities:
* Assist with the preparation of meals as directed by the Head or Sous Chef.
* Ensure the kitchen and all equipment are kept clean and hygienic.
* Wash and store pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils.
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, surfaces, and storage areas.
* Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Flexibility to occasionally work on Saturdays and some evenings is a requirement.
* Dishwashing - Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers.
* Kitchen Cleanliness - Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
* Food Preparation - Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
* Inventory Management - Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients.
* Compliance with Health and Safety - Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order.
