Regional Sustainable Agriculture Manager UK and Ireland
As the Region's Sustainable Agriculture Manager, you provide guidance and leadership on all sustainable farming projects within your region. You will work with external parties like customers, suppliers, 3rd parties, farmers, and be the go-to person for executing and delivering our Scope 3 roadmaps as well as providing regular insights & data reporting to internal and external stakeholders within your region, in line with the Group Scope 3 strategy.
You will have the opportunity to support the Group Sustainable Agriculture Manager with analyzing data-driven insights that influence how we achieve our strategy. You will help drive our road maps and the performance of our regional suppliers (coops, traders, dealers) and farmers. You will assist the Group Sustainable Agriculture Manager in identifying and developing opportunities for improving the carbon footprint of barley, the biodiversity and the SAI concepts across your region. You will assist the Group Sustainable Agriculture Manager in looking for solutions to take CFT and other data from different sources and transforming it into valuable business insights. You will use this data to support best practices in your region and share this valuable information during best practice sharing events together with suppliers, third parties, and customers.
You are the point of contact for the Regional barley and sales team.
Further your tasks will consist of but not be limited to:
1. Support the Group Sustainable Agriculture Manager in driving all sustainable barley Scope 3 roadmaps for your region to reach our FLAG commitment at Group level.
2. Monitor the regional Agri programs including certification on CO2 as well as SAI or equivalent.
3. Assist the Group Sustainable Agriculture Manager to achieve the results needed to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees through our farmer programs subject to our business needs in your region.
4. Identify the right 3rd parties for data gathering, data validation, certificate generation, in line with the needs of your region and program.
5. Support the reporting on barley footprint & SAI certified through power-BI (or equivalent) and potentially other tools in the future.
6. Stay well informed on the latest sustainable farming, Government guidelines, funding opportunities, trends, and requirements within your region.
7. With guidance from the Group, answer questions of customers on sustainable farming programs practices in sustainability & quality and organize best practice sharing events together with suppliers, third parties, and customers.
8. Drive and visualize Boortmalt’s Regional roadmaps and the performance of our suppliers (coops, traders, dealers) and farmers.
9. Continuously identify and develop opportunities for improving the carbon footprint of our barley supply chain, the biodiversity and the SAI concepts.
Master we are looking for?
For this position, we are looking for an individual with a strong agri analytical foundation and a background and keen interest in sustainable and carbon neutral (and beyond) farming.
1. Master's Degree in Biology, Agronomy or equivalent through experience.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience and affinity with handling data demonstrated passion for sustainable farming.
3. Proven track record in a regional function, working with international teams in a matrix environment.
4. Good analytical skills with proven experience to run basic statistical analysis on farmer data (CFT).
5. Good understanding of the sustainable farming environment, SAI, SBTi FLAG, Label Bas Carbone.
6. Strong and proven influencing skills to get data and information in on time and to drive change.
7. Thorough knowledge of environmental footprint approaches and methodologies - GHG protocol, IPCC.
8. Good relationship skills and trust building in a complex environment.
9. Strong communication skills from farmer to brewer.
10. Strong strategic thinking skills - ability to think analytically and problem solve across multi-regions and multi-years.
11. Information seeking capabilities to fill data gaps, identify critical information needs, and develop workaround solutions as needed.
12. Interest to work in a company committed to improving its global sustainability culture/environment.
13. Fluent in English.
14. High familiarity with O365 tools and data gathering/reporting tools.
