Deliver sales of capital equipment and upgrades, contributing to the company's net profit through a market-driven business centre focused on timely, budget-friendly, and specification-compliant delivery.
The business centre will comprise sales, contracts, purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing departments, with manufacturing taking place in the UK, China, Thailand, or a combination of these locations.
The centre will sell products in the food, experimental, and environmental sectors, targeting global markets through direct approaches or the company's overseas subsidiaries in China, Thailand, India, and the USA.
The business manager's key functions include:
* Staying close to the market to gather intelligence, generate prospects, and obtain customer feedback through visits, conferences, and networking.
* Managing the business centre team to handle enquiries and orders effectively, ensuring the best outcome for the company and customer.
* Managing the departmental budget to achieve a positive contribution by managing resources and expenditure.
* Performing reviews for team members, reporting to management on performance-related issues, and advising on training.
* Making recommendations to the board on resources and procedures to improve the company's effectiveness.
* Reporting monthly to the board on project progress, performance against budgets, and other pertinent issues.
* Ensuring relevant reporting tools are up to date.
This is a challenging role, and the successful candidate will receive support from the JMDs and the FD.
