Role Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community. In this flexible, classroom-based role, you will support the teaching and learning of our pupils, promoting high standards of behaviour and academic achievement. Your contribution will be vital in helping our pupils develop their skills, confidence, and independence. Key Responsibilities Support Pupil Learning: Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and adapted learning activities tailored to the needs of all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Behaviour Management: Promote a positive learning environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s behaviour policy. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENDCo, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils, sharing evidence of their progress and areas for development. Monitoring Progress: Observe and record pupil performance, providing regular feedback to the class teacher on progress and any barriers to learning. Completing paperwork as guided by the SENDCo and attending meetings as required. Pastoral support: Supporting pupils with their social and emotional needs, delivering specific intervention, and providing additional tailored support where needed. Contributing to the wider school environment. Safeguarding: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection in accordance with school policies and statutory guidelines. All staff in school will be expected to accept reasonable flexibility in working arrangements and the allocation of duties in pursuance of raising pupil achievement. Any changes will take account of salary/ status/hours and will be subject to discussion, in accordance with the guidance note on contractual changes. Qualifications and Experience Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Experience working in a primary school setting, preferably with pupils with SEND. Experience of using a communication-friendly approach and/or a Total Communication system is desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
