Our client, a specialist school in Sheffield, is seeking a highly experienced SEND Teacher to join their team. This school caters to students aged 7-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering well-structured lessons to students with complex SEMH requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons that meet the individual needs of students.
- Adapt teaching methods to support students with SEMH and complex learning requirements.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive, supportive learning environment.
- Contribute to enhancing learning standards and pupil achievement
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong background in teaching science.
- Experience teaching in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) or SEMH setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of SEMH needs and strategies for effective support.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching.
- Team Teach training (preferred but not essential).
- A commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for students and fostering a positive school ethos.
