We are looking for a Technical Assistant to join the current RNLI Construction and Refit Office team, who will work closely with the Technical Surveyors, Contracting and External Cell. This role supports the RNLI in an assistant function, to ensure that our lifeboats and launching equipment are built and maintained to the highest possible standards. You will play an important part in supporting the CRO team to provide volunteer crews with the reliable equipment they need, to continue to safely save lives in the harshest of environments. Some of the benefits Salary Grade C Flexible working 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays Outstanding pension scheme (contributions of up to 16% of basic salary) Life assurance Health and dental cashplan option Your Role As an RNLI Technical Assistant, you can expect to be tasked in the following areas: Assisting in the compilation of technical reports, specifications, asset defect recording and planned maintenance triage. Assisting Surveyors and contracting in business-as-usual activities. Monitoring and maintaining department invoice pool, ensuring payment obligations are efficiently managed. Raising Maintenance Requests and Work Orders for the Surveying team. Providing support through the processing of Maintenance Work Orders, Purchase Order requests and Invoices. Managing centralized database for IMTE, PPE, training records, annual leave and OCF compliance of departmental staff. Supporting CRO contracts team and Surveyors with loading RNLI component free issue demands. Providing subject matter expertise in relation to AX for the Surveying and Contracting team. Assisting in arranging team conferences/meetings, booking Surveyors accommodation and travel where required. Auditing CRO processes, document management and RNLI asset Survey/Repair database, reporting noncompliance to Principals. About You You will have experience within an engineering/repair/refit management or multi-disciplinary office environment. A good understanding of spoken and written English. Good communication skills at all levels. Advanced use of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, including AX dynamics. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. A proven ability to build strong relationships within an existing team. Good organisational skills, ability to work autonomously. The ability to communicate well with people at all levels is important, along with an eye for detail and good organisational skills.
