Role Overview:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. Key Responsibilities:
* Teaching Excellence: Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity, practical skills, and a deep understanding of food and nutrition.
* Curriculum Delivery: Ensure lessons align with the national curriculum, incorporating a mix of theory and practical work, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and nutritional education.
* Classroom Management: Create a safe and stimulating environment in the food technology classroom, adhering to health and safety standards during practical lessons.
* Assessment: Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and reporting achievements to both students and parents.
* Resource Management: Maintain and manage resources effectively, ensuring that materials and equipment are available and well-organized for lessons.
* Student Engagement: Inspire students to develop a passion for Food Technology and encourage them to think critically about healthy eating, sustainability, and food choices.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the Design and Technology department to share resources, best practices, and contribute to the development of the curriculum.
* Support and Guidance: Offer academic and pastoral support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every student feels valued.
* Whole School Participation: Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events, contributing to the vibrant and collaborative school community.
Ideal Candidate:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification, with a specialism in Food Technology or Design Technology.
* Experience: Proven experience teaching Food Technology in a secondary school setting, with expertise in both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject.
* Health and Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations related to food preparation and kitchen environments.
* Subject Passion: Enthusiastic about Food Technology, with the ability to inspire students and instill a lifelong appreciation for cooking and nutrition.
* Adaptability: Skilled at differentiating lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with additional educational requirements.
* Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
