Are you ready to start your career in electrical engineering within the waste management industry? Thalia Waste Management is offering an exciting apprenticeship opportunity for an aspiring Electrical Technician at our Milton Keynes Waste Recovery Park. This role provides hands-on experience in managing electrical systems while pursuing a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician qualification through Milton Keynes College.

What You Will Learn:
As an Electrical Apprentice, you will gain comprehensive experience in the following areas:
1. Electrical Systems Management: Focus on electrical systems with a secondary focus on control and instrumentation.
2. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure electrical assets comply with appropriate health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
3. Technical Support: Provide technical support to the operational team by resolving electrical-related challenges.
4. Preventative Maintenance: Manage the completion of Planned Preventative Maintenance and annual compliance of instruments.
5. Software Implementation: Implement and test software modules and systems, including SCADA systems.
6. Fault Finding and Investigations: Conduct fault finding and investigations using Siemens PCS7 or equivalent systems.
Training and Development:
You will spend 1 day a week at Milton Keynes College pursuing a Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician qualification. This course is designed to equip you with the technical skills and knowledge required to excel in your role.
Qualifications:
1. 3 GCSEs at grades 4-9 (previously A*-C) including mathematics, English and science, or equivalent or relevant experience.
2. A keen interest in electrical engineering and environmental sustainability.
3. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to work well in a team and independently.
5. Commitment to learning and personal development.
