YOUR ROLE Our Account Payable Team based in Ashby de la Zouch have an exciting opportunity for a meticulous and knowledgeable Accounts Payable Assistant where you will contribute to managing critical supplier accounts, ensuring accounts are paid on time to meet client and company expectations. You will engage with a wide range of operational colleagues where you will support in query management and train key users with an aim to reduce unmatched invoices and increase automatic matching rates. This role will see you based at Ashby de la Zouch Monday to Friday, working a 40-hour week, with flexibility on start times between 8am and 9am. As training progresses you will have the opportunity for hybrid working as defined by the Accounts Payable Manager and Team Leader. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Reporting into the Accounts Payable Team Leader you will be responsible for: The efficient and accurate running AP payments, verifying that supplier accounts are running seamlessly without error. Provide training to operational teams on AP processes, ensuring compliance in line with company policy. Reconcile critical supplier statements and investigate outstanding invoices advising on corrective actions. Clear debit balances ensuring correct allocations have been completed. Liaise with suppliers and internal colleagues to resolve queries. Review the AP ledger to ensure details are accurate for payment runs. Resolve issues quickly to mitigate future risks. Support the AP Team Leader with any ad-hoc requests. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? To be successful in your application you will have significant accounts payable experience, ideally working within a large multi-currency organisation. You will have strong working knowledge of accounts payable procedures and processes, experienced in using an array of financial systems. You will have a curious mindset with natural problem-solving skills where you will enjoy investigating issues and resolving queries. It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator and strong team player, capable of building effective working relationships and able to work autonomously to meet individual and team objectives. You will be IT literate confident in using MS Packages such as Excel. It would be desirable, however not essential if you have experience of using JDE or Medius. If you have experience of engaging with outsourced teams that would also be beneficial. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?
