You will manage a diverse portfolio of Band A and Band B development sites, including non-domestic low-risk schemes. This role is vital in providing expert advice and support, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of development sites, overseeing new applications and ensuring compliance with the inspection framework.
* Provide accurate information, advice, and professional support to businesses and individuals.
* Support and supervise team members, delegating tasks such as plan checking and site inspections as appropriate.
* Liaise with external agencies, stakeholders, and the public to ensure seamless service delivery and guidance.
* Foster a positive understanding of the Council's vision, values, and strategic priorities, engaging Officers to align with the strategic plan.
* Contribute to a performance culture focused on service excellence and efficiency.
Candidate Requirements:
* Registered Building Inspector status at Class 2 level.
* Professional Building Control Qualification (RICS, CABE, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in building control with a thorough understanding of building regulations and legislation.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
* Commitment to service excellence and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
