An exciting opportunity for an experienced Supervisor / General Foreman to join AmcoGiffen in the Aviation business unit supporting our growing portfolio of projects and maintenance on a number of key frameworks and major schemes at various Airports throughout the UK.

AmcoGiffen Aviation is currently involved in a number of key frameworks and major schemes (at varying stages of the project lifecycle) at numerous Airports throughout the UK. In order to support the planned growth of the business, we have a vacancy for Supervisor / General Foreman to join our Aviation team.
Working within our Aviation team, you will carry out all site supervision functions allocated by the Management team within your capability, which will include short/long term planning. You will play your part in the team to ensure safe and efficient delivery of all construction operations and ensuring all works are fully compliant with AmcoGiffen and the client’s procedures, standards and requirements. You will ensure line management is aware of any technical problems at the soonest opportunity and will be proactive in assisting to resolve such problems in a timely manner.
Airside experience is essential for this role.
The Role
As Supervisor / General Foreman you will be directly responsible for the daily management of various civil engineering and rail projects within our portfolio of work in the region. Day to day responsibilities would include:
* Ensure that works are executed in accordance with the requirements of:
* All applicable legislation.
* The Terms and Conditions of the contract.
* The Contract Health and Safety Plan.
* The Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets.
* The Contract Quality / Environmental Plan.
* Approved Works Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets.
* The approved Construction Drawings and Specification.
* The Policies and Procedures contained within the Company Business Management System.
* Ensure that all company Health & Safety, Environmental requirements and initiatives are implemented.
* Manage and supervise the site operations including labour, sub-contractors, plant and materials that are necessary to complete the contract works.
* Delivery of the contract within programme and budget.
* Liaison with site staff and commercial staff to ensure the works are delivered within tender allowances.
* Produce and brief method statements and task briefings to all reporting personnel.
* Ensure that Quality standards are achieved and are ‘right first time’.
* The continuous monitoring of progress against programme to ensure contract timescales and objectives are met.
* Ensure that robust records are maintained ie/ diaries, allocation sheets, plant etc.
* Ensure that in conjunction with the site team changes to the contract are identified, agreed and managed.
* The provision of formal reports on contract progress to the Agent / Project Manager.
* Ensure that all relevant issues which cannot be resolved at contract level are passed for the attention of the PM.
* Daily White Board Brief.
* Point of Work Risk Assessment.
* Deliver tool box Talks.
* Allocation sheets.
* Liaise with PM/Site Agent on best practice.
* Contribute to planning of works on a daily basis.
* Procure Plant & Materials.
* Plant and Labour returns.
* Plan efficient use of resource.
* Monitor site progress against programme.
* Accurate record keeping.
* Close call reporting.
Requirements
* To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as an Agent or Sub Agent working on Aviation projects and frameworks.
* Experience and a proven track record of successful project delivery for a Main Contractor/sub-contractor on Airfield works as a Supervisor or General Foreman.
* Experience and a proven track record of successful project delivery on Airfield work is essential to this role.
* Practical experience of civil Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL).
* Ability to obtain Airside pass in the form of Basic Disclosure Certificate.
* DfT recognised General Security Awareness Training.
* 5-year checkable work history.
* CSCS Card Holder, SMSTS, IOSH Environmental or SEATS, First Aid, TWC (client security purposes).
* Clean UK driving license.
