Costing Engineer
Salary: £48,000 DOE + Benefits including bonus
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Days Only (Mon-Fri)
gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Cost Engineer to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City.
Performance Objectives
1. Develop NPI projects with all relevant departments and manage projects through to successful completion.
2. Support commercial requirements of the department and all other departments.
3. Produce estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals to support bids and new business development.
4. Evaluate and analyze customer datasets, specifications, and condition of supply documentation to identify the need for raw material, bought out and subcontract requirements.
5. Liaise with Engineering, Operations, and Purchasing teams to prepare robust competitive proposals for customers.
6. Be a catalyst for change by providing leadership to manage driving through improvements changes.
7. Ensure engineering and quality requirements for products are fully understood and met.
8. Produce weekly and monthly quotation status reports.
9. Chase through outstanding quotations via the Account Management Team.
10. Produce & update monthly KPIs and take actions to achieve targets.
11. Develop, implement & sustain a safe working culture ensuring Health & Safety requirements are complied with.
12. Liaise with other leaders and functions as necessary and support customer visits as required.
13. Ensure that work is conducted in a safe environment according to safe practices - report deviation from H&S good practice immediately.
14. Preserve a close and collaborative relationship with all departments.
15. Assist the team with any ad hoc duties as required.
Person Specification
1. Experienced in understanding technical drawings and BOM's with the ability to extract the relevant processes and materials for quotation.
2. Experience in constructing a structured quotation from this information.
3. Estimating and quotation work.
4. Solid understanding of Engineering principles.
5. Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements relating to manufacturing.
Desirable
1. Manufacturing Aerospace Industry experience.
2. Knowledge of inspection procedures & standards.
3. Knowledge of Aventa.
4. MS Project & Visio.
