Job Title: Credit Controller
Location: Coventry
Salary: Up to £30,000 + Monthly Target Bonus
Contract: Full-time, Office-based (5 days per week)
We're partnering with a prominent client in the energy sector, seeking a talented Credit Controller to join their Coventry team. This is a fantastic chance for an experienced professional to step into a role that values ownership, promotes efficiency, and supports continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and resolve invoice queries by liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure swift outcomes.
2. Proactively engage SME clients through calls, emails, and letters to drive debt recovery.
3. Meet call and debtor day targets, ensuring regular contact with customers.
4. Prepare reports and account statements using Excel.
5. Build strong working relationships across teams and with clients.
6. Present updates during weekly debt meetings and collaborate on complex account reconciliations.
7. Identify and propose process improvements and assist in their implementation.
8. Perform other duties as needed, supporting management goals.
What We're Looking For:
1. Minimum of 2 years' credit control experience.
2. Demonstrated ability to meet set targets and deadlines.
3. Strong communication and customer service skills.
4. Confidence in handling debt collection conversations and negotiating positive outcomes.
5. A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent prioritisation skills.
6. Ability to recommend process enhancements.
7. Intermediate knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUPs).
8. Knowledge of the gas/electricity sector is advantageous but not required.
