In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
The purpose of this role is to work in the shop floor and office environment, responsible for the administration of repair, service, sales, purchase and production orders and any administration support for the department. Provide regular updates relating to outstanding repair orders to the team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily checks with despatch for 145 deliveries bring them up to the 145 area and put on the relevant shelves for processing.
2. Unpack boxes and check customer or supplier paperwork is correct to what has been delivered.
3. Book into BaaN repaired items returned from Suppliers.
4. Book in Customer repair orders raise service orders, purchase orders, lot numbers, cost estimates and take photos of customer returned units.
5. Rotable stock inventory management updating rotable stock spreadsheet.
6. Raise C of C's for rotable and repaired units take the units to despatch for shipment.
7. Manage Return As Is / Beyond economical repair units on return from the OEM.
8. Pack Meggitt Vietnam box ready for shipment.
9. Update item shelf life.
10. Scanning/Filing and archiving of C of C's.
11. Filing of Job Packs.
12. Raise advice notes, sales and purchase orders to send parts to suppliers for repair.
13. Manage supplier and customer orderbooks.
14. Raise scrap certificates.
15. Enter supplier quotation detail into BaaN and prepare the strip report for the customer.
16. Price up internal repair jobs.
17. Send quotations to customers and process customer approvals.
18. Update the customers regularly with the status of their current open orders.
19. Liaise across all departments to ensure delivery dates are met.
20. Respond to technical questions from the customers and suppliers.
21. Offer rotable units to customers to reduce turnaround time.
22. Ensure production orders are loaded in a timely manner so demand is loaded into BaaN.
23. Manage shortages to ensure we meet our lead times.
24. Process POD's into BaaN.
25. Manage A.O.G's.
26. Generate the sales order book.
27. To cross train where appropriate for full flexibility.
28. Actively participate and contribute to continuous improvement.
29. Willingness to participate in improvement activity across the business.
30. Must be prepared to undertake activities required out of the factory and when necessary outside the normal working hours.
31. Must embrace change and be willing to adopt new skills to support all areas of the business.
32. To be flexible in a team oriented environment.
33. Support and engage in company initiatives, including Continuous Improvement, KPI collection, Process Improvements, etc.
34. Undertake any training of themselves and support training of others as deemed required by management.
35. Undertake other reasonable duties, which are consistent and commensurate with the skills, knowledge, experience and training.
