As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will provide effective commercial management and governance of SEA projects, bids and all commercial offerings for the business area working with Divisional Management, Bid and Project Managers. You will act as the primary point of contact with Customers and Subcontractors for all commercial matters relating to contracts and bids, whilst also providing independent oversight to ensure that the business secures commercial agreements that minimise risk, maximise financial outturn (profit and cashflow), optimise our wider commercial opportunities, and are compliant with relevant standards and legislation.

What you'll be doing:
1. Negotiate and agree Customer Contracts and other relevant commercial documents
2. Draft, negotiate and agree sub-contracts and major or complex procurement agreements
3. Undertake commercial management of sub-contractors
4. Coordinate Contract Reviews for new projects
5. Consult external advisory bodies on specific matters of commercial best practice
6. Prepare budgetary estimates and other input to pre-commitment enquiries
7. Negotiate and agree Collaboration Agreements (Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements, Royalty/ IP Licence Agreements)
8. Monitor and report on monthly Order Intake and other commercial metrics for division
9. Provide input into divisional budget and forecast processes
10. Participate in divisional management meetings
11. Provide independent commercial advice to divisional management, project and bid managers
12. Assess divisional commercial risks and develop plans to reduce risk and increase yield
13. Maintain appropriate document registers i.e. Export Register, Intellectual Property Register, Contracts register
14. Provide commercial induction and refresher training
15. Liaise with UK Export Authority on Export Compliance audits and follow up actions
16. Line management
The skills you need:
1. Experienced in Government procurement
2. Strong Negotiation Skills
3. Experience working within the MOD, Defence or Aerospace industry
4. Qualified in contract law or hold a general law degree
5. Expert within Methods of contracting and T&C's
6. Knowledge of Customer through life support
7. Knowledge of pricing, terms and conditions and other contractual documentation
8. Experience in delivering commercial sales transactions, negotiation, bid preparation
9. Strong written, communication and analytical skills
10. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build strong business relationships with a wide range of Company and customer personnel
11. Proven ability to work accurately and quickly under pressure
12. Previous line management experience
