We are seeking a dedicated Project Accountant to join our small, friendly, and dynamic finance team. We constantly develop new processes and collaborate closely with archaeological heads of departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Role Overview:
As a Project Accountant, you will ensure project finances are correct and regularly updated. Given the unpredictable nature of archaeological contracts, you will engage regularly with Heads of Departments to ensure accurate revenue reporting in compliance
with FRS102.
You will be responsible for performing and maintaining Work in Progress (WIP) calculations and schedules, investigating unusual project margins or projects with anomalies, maintaining cashflow forecasts and budget information, amongst others.
Requirements:
We are looking for a part-qualified or fully qualified accountant with a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent numerical proficiency, and the ability to analyse complex financial reports with an enquiring mind.
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong attention to detail and investigative skills.
Intermediate Excel skills.
Ability to learn quickly and to adapt to new systems and processes.
Experience in Sage 200 (desirable but not essential).
Excellent interpersonal skills to maximize team performance.
Willingness to learn (e.g. in things like grant accounting and Charity SORP).
