About the Role:
Join the Safer Communities Service in Lewisham and make a tangible difference in improving community safety and reducing anti-social behavior and statutory nuisances. As a Safer Communities Officer, you will respond to complaints, investigate cases, and enforce regulations to create safer neighborhoods. This dynamic role combines casework, enforcement, and partnership collaboration to address community concerns effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage complex caseloads related to anti-social behavior, statutory nuisances, and community safety.
Respond to victims of crime and anti-social behavior promptly, assessing risk and vulnerability.
Undertake investigations using diverse methods, including gathering evidence and conducting enforcement actions such as issuing statutory notices and pursuing legal remedies.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to address crime and disorder issues, facilitating multi-agency operations.
Participate in out-of-hours nuisance response services on a rota basis, including occasional evening and weekend shifts.
What We're Looking For:
Significant experience in community safety, anti-social behavior, or statutory nuisance enforcement.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act 2014 and Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations tactfully and professionally.For more information please call Sam on (phone number removed)
