Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee the payroll department within our accountancy firm which is regulated by & registered with ICAEW, UK. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our clients, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This individual will also work closely with our accounting and human resources teams to ensure seamless operations and compliance with all applicable UK laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Processing: Manage the accurate and timely processing of payroll for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
2. Tax Compliance: Ensure payroll taxes are calculated and remitted on time, including PAYE, NI contributions and ensure compliance with all relevant tax filings.
3. Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries from clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any issues promptly.
4. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, adjustments, and other payroll-related documentation in accordance with legal and client requirements.
5. Reporting: Generate and distribute payroll reports and payslips for clients, providing insights into labor costs, deductions, and other relevant financial metrics.
6. Compliance Management: Ensure all payroll-related activities comply with applicable UK laws and regulations.
7. Supervision and Training: Supervise and train payroll staff to ensure they are up to date on best practices and compliance issues. Provide guidance and support as needed.
8. Audit Support: Prepare payroll data and reports for internal and external audits, assisting in clients’ audits related to payroll, benefits and deductions.
9. System Management: Oversee the integration and use of our payroll software systems, ensuring they are optimized for efficiency and accuracy.
10. Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve payroll processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Candidate holding professional qualifications like ACCA, ACA will be preferred.
2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll management or a related role, with at least 1 years in a supervisory capacity. Experience working in an accounting firm is highly preferred.

4. Proficiency in Payroll software (Capium, Kashflow, Moneysoft Payroll manager, Xero).
5. Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and employment regulations.
6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to manage multiple client payrolls simultaneously.
9. Knowledge of accounting principles and payroll best practices.
10. Certifications (Preferred):
11. ACCA, ACA or other certifications from a professional body.
Working Conditions:
1. Standard office hours with occasional extended hours during peak payroll periods or for client-specific needs.
2. Ability to work in a team environment and under tight deadlines.
3. Visa Sponsorship will be offered subject to the availability.
Salary & Benefits:
-Salary range: £31,500 - £39,500 per annum. (Above Ongoing Rate)
