We are currently looking for
a Maintenance Technician to sit within a key team to resolve, repair issues and maintain equipment in our Bedford DC.
This is a full time position, working alongside the Site Operations team and report to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set facilities standards and ensure they are maintained
2. To work with 3rd party contracts to ensure best value
3. To help implement a new CMMS to track and manage maintenance tasks effectively
4. National standards and Specifications
5. H&S Requirements, site compliance being key, i.e., PUWER/LOLER etc
6. Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out ensuring compliance with all health & safety standards and regulations
7. Planned maintenance schedules are followed and actioned effectively
8. To work within the Facilities teams to resolve, repair issues and maintain equipment, assisting with quotes and project work
9. React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected parties and work efficiently to fix the issue
10. Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager
Skills and Experience:
11. Served a full Engineering indentured Apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject (City & Guilds EAL, SVQ/IVQ, BTEC all at Level 3)
12. Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
13. Experience of setting standards and implementing on them site
14. Warehouse internals i.e. Racking/dock doors/dock lifting systems/ sprinklers/lighting/power distribution/plumbing/joinery and general repair works
15. Organise and prioritise multiple maintenance works
16. Good communication skills within a team but also working alongside operations
17. The right candidate would have warehouse automation experience as the company looks to develop
