We have a reputation for providing high quality education and support for all learners and are seeking to recruit a high-quality Lecturer in Maths to teach GCSE and Functional Skills to learners aged from 16 - 18 and adults.
To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to motivate and engage a range of students with inspirational and innovative approaches to Maths and be able to deliver high-quality teaching and learning using practical, real-life scenarios. A minimum of a level 3 Maths qualification or equivalent level skills is essential together with a Certificate in Education.
Levelling up premium payments for FE teachers
Attention all eligible FE teachers! Are you looking to level up your career and earn more while teaching specific courses? You may be eligible to claim a levelling-up premium payment for teaching courses in building and construction, chemistry, computing, early years, engineering and manufacturing, maths, and physics. The payment ranges from £2,000 to £6,000 depending on your provider and the number of hours you teach. If you’re in your first 5 years of teaching in FE and spend at least half of your hours teaching eligible FE courses at level 3 or below, you may be eligible. Key Responsibilities
- Teach students enrolled on a range of courses as assigned by your line manager
- Implement appropriate feedback and assessment systems to accurately check learning, adapting teaching as required to ensure learner progress.
- Operate within the Quality Assurance framework.
- Manage courses or parts of courses as required including administration and organisation.
- Contribute to curriculum innovation, development, and implementation.
- Maintain a professional learning environment in the classroom consistently implementing the College’s behaviour management processes as required.
- Maintain and update teaching expertise and skills to continually develop your teaching practice and deliver the best outcomes for learners.
Essential Criteria
* Possess a PGCE/Certificate of education or equivalent teaching qualification
* Possess a Level 3 in Mathematics
* Track record of successful teaching experience across a range of levels including GCSE and Functional Skills
* Experience teaching adult learners
* Detailed knowledge of relevant course subject matter and examination and assessment requirements
* Understanding of value added and the use of progress performance measures
* Experience of developing and maintaining external partnerships to enrich teaching and learning.
* Ability to provide clear, direct and constructive written and verbal feedback
* Ability to maintain a disciplined learning environment promoting high expectations of all learners.
