Working with a long-term client to find an experienced Design Draughtsperson to join them in the offices in Dyce. The Design Draughtsperson will be responsible for designing and producing concepts and solutions of structural, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic details for use equipment in the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Developing designs in line with design request and equipment technical specification
2. Developing 3D CAD models in Autodesk Inventor
3. Developing 2D CAD models in AutoCAD
4. Producing manufacturing, assembly, general arrangement, layout, fabrication, machining, process flow, Piping and Instrumentation (P&ID) and schematic drawings
5. Developing design concepts and solutions to satisfy design request requirements
6. Evaluating feasibility of design solutions in consideration of risk, ease of manufacture, cost, and lead time
7. Leading, attending and contributing during design reviews
8. Creating and issuing design instructions for the manufacture or modification of products
9. Liaising with external vendors and projects team during the manufacturing process to capture and record changes in design documentation
10. Reviewing and checking drawings and design documentation
11. Performing onshore and offshore dimensional surveys
12. Providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced members of the team
13. Preparing 3D CAD renders for sales and marketing material for supporting new engineering projects
14. Ensuring design tasks / outputs are progressed in accordance with product development processes and procedures
15. Estimating design task completion timeline
Experience / Education:
1. Minimum HND qualification in an Engineering Design biased discipline
2. Prior experience in engineering design and draughting
3. Strong AutoCAD & Inventor or Solidworks experience
4. 2D AutoCAD knowledge
5. 3D Autodesk Inventor knowledge
6. Capable of carrying out dimensional surveys
7. Ability to work alone or part of a team
8. Working in accordance with design standards
9. Draughting in accordance with technical drawing standards
10. Prioritising conflicting workloads
Salary: £35k – £45k
Hours: 37.5 pw
12 month FTC
