Exciting Opportunity: Sports Coach and Teaching Assistant – Everton Area
A prestigious primary school in the Everton area is seeking a talented Support Assistant for a unique part-time role as a Sports Coach and Teaching Assistant. This role is pivotal in fostering strong connections with students while promoting their academic progress and social development.

The Headteacher is highly motivated and committed to creating this new full-time role to support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs who require additional guidance.
Role Overview
As the successful candidate, you will work 25–32 hours per week, splitting your time between sports coaching and pastoral mentoring. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Providing individualised support to pupils, primarily in one-to-one or small group settings.
2. Assisting children with special educational needs to integrate into the school environment.
3. Leading engaging sports activities and high-quality PE sessions during break and lunch times.
4. Focusing on improving pupils’ social skills and building their confidence through sports.
This role offers a temporary contract through Teaching Personnel, with the position starting in January 2025.
Candidate Requirements
The school is looking for applicants who have:
1. Experience in a primary school setting, ideally across KS1 and KS2.
2. Relevant qualifications and/or experience in delivering sports programmes to young children.
3. A passion for working with children and an ability to engage those with additional needs.
