Financial Accountant

* Salary: £65,000 - £75,000
Join a leading professional services firm as a Financial Accountant. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to further their experience in a broad finance role, reporting directly to the Financial Controller.
Day-to-day of the role:
Reporting:
* Prepare, analyse, and regularly update financial data to provide accurate reports to senior management, including:
o Monthly Management Accounts and Departmental reviews.
o P&L forecasts and regular updates.
o Statutory financial statements and audit adjustments.
o Annual Income and Costs budgets.
o Cash forecasts.
o Quarterly Financial Covenants tests to the bank.
o Assistance with the SRA and Statutory LLP audits.
Accounting Tasks:
* Calculate and process quarterly commission payments.
* Prepare schedules for Equity and Fixed Share Partner drawings.
* Review monthly Balance Sheet and bank reconciliations.
* Update monthly Fee Earner and Support staff headcount listings.
* Manage Partner’s Capital requirements; liaise with the bank for new or increased capital as required.
* Valuate WIP & Debts.
* Support the COFA role.
General Tasks:
* Undertake ad hoc projects to improve processes and efficiencies within the accounting function.
* Provide ad hoc reports and financial information as required.
* Address queries from Partners and Associates.
* Liaise generally with auditors and the bank.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Accounting qualification – ACCA, CIMA or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a law firm or professional services firm.
* In-depth knowledge of the Principles and Accounts Rules of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. SQL knowledge is a distinct advantage.
* Professional demeanour with outstanding leadership and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
