(b28ec4b8) We are looking to recruit a person to complement our team of workers, to support a young boy who has a diagnosis of Autism, Learning Disability and ADHD
The young boy is a happy child who loves animals and enjoys watching a range of cartoons including Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as well as being active.
He smiles a lot although he can be loud when he is distressed. He sensory seeks and may head bang into people when distressed. He can become distressed when he finally realises, he is hungry, thirsty or cold but may not realise this and refuse food and drink until he is very hungry or thirsty.
Waiting can cause him to become distressed. He has weighted items and chew noodles to help provide feedback to keep him regulated. Changes to routine can distress him
His favourite activities are visiting places like Plessey Woods, soft play, swimming, beaches, walks where he can feed the ducks etc. he has a National Trust card, Tim Lamb membership, Alan Shearer Centre membership and Beamish membership. He also likes going out in his chair, likes messy play but usually wants his hands cleaned fairly quickly after the messy play. He also enjoys trips to McDonalds, going into shops to buy one item (this is often a packet of noodles or sweets).
To support 2-1 for 5 hours a week during summer school holidays (6 Weeks), usually on a weekday. While being part of a team with picking up additional hours during staff holiday and/or sick leave if possible
Time out to be used to access age-appropriate activities away from the home, support with medication and build a secure relationship with the young boy and his family. To encourage interactions, appropriate to the activities being accessed, while supporting and prompting the young boy with toileting needs/ hygiene.

Rates of pay £13.09 per hour and 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata) Out of pocket expenses will be met by the Employer. This post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and references (Cost to be met by Employer).
Car driver is essential and must have Business Insurance.
Please discuss other available hours with employer. Hours: 5hrs per week during school's summer holidays (6 weeks). Day and time to be discussed at interview. Services
